To Have a Quiet Heart

How many, like myself, have full lives and busy households?

Children

Noise

Work

Play

In the midst of it all how often I find myself craving silence.

Silence. A quiet moment to let Him speak peace to my heart.

Several weeks ago a friend recommended the work of Madame Guyon. I found her timeless treasure A Short Method of Prayer available on the kindle for only $0.99 and have slowly been reading one page at a time. She speaks to my heart about the kind of silence I crave.

The reason why inward silence is so necessary is, that Christ, being the eternal and essential Word, in order that He may be received into the soul, there must be a disposition corresponding with what He is. ~Madame Guyon
